Welcome to my website.  I am so happy that you dropped by!  I am Marg Duggan Jones.  My goal is to make art that you want to reach out and touch. Don’t try that in an Art Gallery though, it’s REALLY frowned upon. And truthfully, the oils in your hands can destroy a painting. But, I digress…..

Canada has been home since I was 5 years old. Perhaps it is because I was born on an island so close to the sea that my entire being comes alive every time I see the ocean, a blue sky, rocks or crashing surf.  I live in Dundas Ontario, a picturesque valley town surrounded by conservation areas, hiking trails, an escarpment and 100 breathtaking waterfalls.  

I try to express the emotions that landscapes evoke in me. Using colour, line and texture they start to come alive.  I begin with no end or result in mind. At each subsequent step in the process I add layers and reveal some of the underlying marks until eventually the painting starts to speak to me.  I slow down, reacting to what it needs in order to “bring it home.”  I hope that my work will bring as much joy to you, the viewer as it did for me creating it.
